About

Highlands Unfiltered is a documentary photo journal of life across the Scottish Highlands - shaped by weather, landscape, people, animals and the quiet details found between places.

Created by JT, the project follows real moments as they unfold: mountain light, woodland paths, changing seasons, local encounters, working animals, wildlife, lochs, villages and the atmosphere of everyday Highland life.

The Highlands are often shown as dramatic scenery, but this journal is also about the smaller moments: a quiet path through the forest, animals standing in winter light, weather moving across the hills, people connected to the land, and places that feel almost unnoticed until you stop and look.

Highlands Unfiltered is built from walking, observing and photographing what is already there. Some images are calm, some are raw, some are beautiful, and some simply document a moment before it disappears.

This is a slow visual record of place, weather and life in the Highlands - seen through photography, curiosity and a deep respect for the land.
